Blog Love

On this day of love instead of talking about the typical: what to wear, what to do, or opening the door to tidbits of a love life which I may or may not have, I thought I’d share some love in another way.  As in love to my fellow bloggers.

This will probably be the start of another series where I highlight some of my favorite current reads and why.  I’m going to kick things off with a few of my current go to blogs.  I can literally kill a good chunk of my day scouring these pages as they all make for good reads.  If you’re a fellow blogger then you most likely already know these lovely bloggers but for those who don’t I hope you’ll find these blogs and the people behind them just as intriguing as I do.

  • Wendy Brandes:  A fine jewelry blog with the moto – wear what you want.  Beautiful, smart, down to earth and a talented designer there is much to love about Wendy.  Whether she’s promoting her fine jewelry line, commenting on current events or giving you a little history lesson Wedny always has something interesting to say with a dose of humor to boot.  How I love a good laugh and people who don’t take themselves too seriously!  It goes without saying that I’d like to own a piece of Wendy B some day, *hint hint* friends or prospective significant others!  Some of my favorite pieces include: her Empress Wu Dragon cufflinks, Mia scent locket, and those swear rings though my list could go on, and before your jaws drop over the price of her goods she explains her pricing in several posts such as here, here and most recently here  so check those out before you judge!

Wendy can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.

  • 33 avenue Miquelon:  Where fashion, cars, music and personal anecdotes collide in a swirl of dark beauty.  It’s hard to summarize 33 avenue Miquelon other than to say there is a certain je ne sais quois about it that keeps me coming back.  Maybe it’s the loving nature of Cameron, the gal behind the blog.  Whether she’s profiling other bloggers (and yes she was kind enough to feature me as well but that’s not why she’s featured here), promoting up and coming designers or championing for her hometown of Louisville there’s a lot of love to be found here.  Cameron’s Follow Friday or previously titled Le suivre vendredi series is a great way to find new blogs to follow.  Last but not least Cameron is currently promoting her towns first ever fashion week:  Waterfront Fashion Week going down this October.  Pencil that in your schedule because I plan to be there and hope others will join us.

In addition to the blog you can stalk Cameron on Facebook and Twitter.

  • Dress With Courage:  When it comes to issues on body image Elissa hits the nail on the head every time.  She candidly talks about her issues and struggles with her weight, self-perception or sociability making her relatable to women of all ages.  She’s also an avid vintage shopper sharing her advice on thrifting via her aptly titled Thrifting-101series so be sure to check those out if you want some tips.   Elissa is a talented writer who puts a lot of effort into her posts taking the time out to back up her facts. Dress With Courage has a depth and personality I much enjoy and have a lot of respect for.

When she’s not dropping knowledge on the blog you can also find Elissa tweeting with humor.
